LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION AND OPERATING MEDIUM CONTAINING THE SAME COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition consisting of a quaternary ammonium phosphite compound having a specific structure and useful as an extreme pressure agent capable of improving remarkably abrasion resistance of freezing machine oil. CONSTITUTION:This composition consists of an quaternary ammonium phosphite compound of the formula [R1 to R4 are each a 1-12C (un)saturated alkyl, phenyl or an alkylphenyl; R5 and R6 are each an 8-24C (un)saturated alkyl]. The composition is preferably blended in an amount of 0.1-5wt.% based on the lubricating oil. Furthermore, e.g. a trimethylol propane carboxylic acid ester can be used as a base oil for the lubricating oil.
