PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid jet recording device whose service life can be prolonged, by reusing a part of a recording liquid housing section, which is detached for exchange, as a disposing absorbing member of a recording liquid sucked by a head cleaning means. CONSTITUTION:Each ink tank can be separated and exchanged singly when ink is out. A head and a tank unit are placed on a carriage 33 which moves right and left along a guide 34 so as to print. A color of a given ink tank 36 separated from a head unit can be any one of four colors. The tank separated from the head unit is inserted into a printer from a waste ink tank insertion opening 35 provided in the printer so as to be used as a waste ink tank. The ink tank inserted into the printer is connected to an ink discharge opening to be arranged at a suction unit in the printer instead of the head so as to be reused as a tank for waste ink. |
