PURPOSE:To detect abnormality in a rush current suppressing circuit by monitoring the voltage being applied to a capacitor in a rectifying circuit thereby deciding the state of the rush current suppression circuit. CONSTITUTION:A three-phase power supply is connected through a relay 12 with the input side of a diode module 13 which is connected, on the output side, with a reactor 14 and a capacitor 15, respectively, in series and parallel with a load. In such three-phase input capacitor in top rectifying circuit, a circuit comprising a resistor 11 and a relay 10 is connected, as a rush current suppressing circuit, across a relay 12 for phases R and S of the power supply. If only the relay 10 in the rush current suppressing circuit is turned ON upon throw-in of power supply, the voltage being applied to the capacitor 15 in the rectifying circuit is read out and the state of the rush current suppressing circuit is decided based on the voltage level thus detected thus detecting abnormality in the rush current suppressing circuit. |
