The separators are fabricated as a single piece of moulded plastic that fits transversely between the walls of the door shelf of the refrigerator. The lower part of the separator is in the shape of an arc (3A) which projects into the internal space of the shelf. The upper part of the separator is 'W'-shaped, with the central peak higher that the two sides. The ends of the 'W' meet the ends of the arc at a flattened region, with a shoulder at the top edge of the flattened region. The flattened region presses against the upper part of the inner wall of the shelf, and the shoulder (3D) extends over the top edge of the shelf. The compression needed to allow insertion of the separator into the shelf ensures the separator is held in place inside the shelf.
