<p>The invention relates to a method for measuring the intensity of a liquid of known colour in a viewing chamber of predetermined dimension. The method comprises providing on one side of said viewing chamber a plurality of regions of said colour in different intensities, and observing said regions through the viewing chamber containing said liquid. The colour intensity of the liquid is estimated according to which regions of said colour are visible from the other side of the viewing chamber. The scope of the invention also extends to a device for measuring the colour intensity of a liquid sample. The device comprises a viewing chamber, a sample receiving area and a conduit linking the receiving area and the viewing chamber, wherein: (a) on a wall of one side of the viewing chamber are applied a plurality of regions of the same colour but in different intensities, in such a way as to be visible through said chamber; and (b) the viewing chamber and conduit are of capillary dimensions.</p> |
