The signal processing circuit for a video cassette recorder comprises: a first broadcasting/second broadcasting/line signal selection key for selecting one of first broadcasting signal, second broadcasting signal and line input signal; a PIP key for selecting two of the first and second broadcasting signals, line input signal and a reproduction image signal and outputting them to a parent screen and a child screen; a TIT key for selecting the first broadcasting signal or the second broadcasting signal and outputting it to the parent screen and child screen; a key processing unit having a PIP shift key for sequentially shifting the image signal; a system control unit for outputting the first and second broadcasting signals, line selection signal, PIP control signal, PIP inverting signal, PIP shift signal, TIT control signal and a mode signal according to the key selection of the key processing unit; an image signal processing unit for selectively outputting the first and second broadcasting signals and line image signal according to the control signal and selection signal of the system control unit, or selectively combining two image signals of the first and second broadcasting signals, line input signal and reproducing image signal to output to the parent screen and child screen, or selecting the first broadcasting signal or the second broadcasting signal to output to the parent screen and child screen; and a sound signal processing unit for selectively processing and outputting the sound signal of the parent screen image selected by the image signal processing unit.
