Recording material for ink jet printing has (a) a substrate, coated on one or both sides with (b) an ink-receiving layer, which dissolves or swells in water. The novelty is that (c) an intermediate layer of a film-forming polymer, which is insol. in water but dissolves or swells in alcohol, is used between (a) and (b).
