The invention concerns a medicament containing a combination of a p-oxybenzoic acid derivative of the general (I), wherein R<1> represents hydrogen or a straight-chain or branched C1-C4 alkyl group, n = 1, 2, X represents -CH(OH)-, -CO-, and R<2> is -OH, -NHCH2COOH, or of a physiologically compatible salt thereof, and of an HMG-CoA-reductase inhibitor (3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A-reductase inhibitor), as well as usual carrier substances, auxiliaries and/or additives. A preparation of this type has hypolipidemic properties. The invention also concerns a process for producing the disclosed medicament.
