In a container (1) with a screwed cap (4) for nail varnish, liquid mascara or the like, in which the closed position of the screwed can in relation to the container is defined by at least one end stop and in which a cover (7) is fitted on the screwed cap to be integral in rotation therewith, in order to obtain a defined orientation between the screwed cap and the cover when the cover is machine-fitted, a peripheral annular shoulder (22) having a thread-like pitch is formed on the outer face of the screwed cap (4) or the inside of the cover (7) to produce a stop shoulder (27) on the transition region between the beginning (25) and end (26) of said annular shoulder (22) so that a guide slot (28) extends downwards from the stop shoulder (27) and aligned therewith and in which a guide rib (15) is formed on the inner wall of the cover (7) or the outer surface of the screwed cap (4) running parallel to the longitudinal axis (16 or 17), the width of which corresponds to that of the guide slot (28).
