The support element of a rod in a position forced into a support (21,22) consists of a body (2) made from moulded plastic having a foot (3) whose end is joined to a head (4) with an interior hole (5) to receive the rod. The foot (3) is lodged in the interior if the support and the head (4) is outside.The foot (3) is held in position by spring clips (11) which can be folded inwards from the external surface (9) of the foot. To do this each clip (11) contains a catch (27) which can be accessed by a tool (28) which is introduced into the hole (5) from the head (4). By pushing on this catch by the tool the clip is forced inwards into the hole (5) so that the foot can be released.
