The subassembly (10) comprises a ball head (12) with a carrier (16), and a neck (24) arrangement connecting the two. A locking (58,60) locks the ball head in its socket (30). The lock may be released via a hand grip (52) on the socket housing (14). The release comprises a grip body which moves on a slide (46) located on one of the outer surfaces of the socket housing.
