Tyre tread compsn. for tyres with improved wear resistance

Pneumatic tyres are claimed, with treads made of a rubber compsn. with a tan-delta of at least 0.45 and at least 0.25 at 0 and 60 deg C respectively, contg. (i) 3-10 pts. wt. p-phenylenediamine-type antioxidant, (ii) 1-10 pts. wt. of a mixt. of (a) 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,2-dihydroquinoline or its derivs. and (b) polymers of (a), and (iii) 30-100 pts. wt. carbon black with a N2 specific surface of at least 70 m<2>/g and a 24M4DBP value of at least 80 ml/100 g, mixed with 100 pts. wt. rubber. Also claimed are tyres wit a rubber compsn. as above, in which component (ii)-(b) has dimer and trimer contents of at least 20 and 15 wt.% respectively, with a total dimer to tetramer content of at least 45 wt.%.
