The expansion volume (8) of the engine is larger than the compression volume (7), due to de-central positioning of the rotary axis of the rotor. Compression and expansion of working gases do not take place in the same working chamber. A rotor (2) with integrated slides (3) rotates in an elliptical housing (1).The slides are regulated by centrifugal force, spring or gas pressure, or mechanical guidance. Several chambers vary their volume during a rotation, so that 4-stroke operation is achieved with several ignitions per rotation. The engine can be operated with any type of fuel.
