The grinding head (2) comprises a rotationally symmetrical base body (1) with fastening connection, opposite to the grinding face, for a drive. The level grinding head contains several grinding steps (26-28) with grinding agent layers (20,21,30) of different grain size. Pref. the grinding layers (20,21) are located concentrically at the outer periphery of the front side grinding face of the head. Typically the outer grinding layer (20) is of larger grain size than the more inside located grinding layer (21). Two grinding steps (26,27) may be set at the front side of a support ring (19) on the body front.
