摘要

A dye-receiving element for thermal dye transfer has a base carrying a dye-image receiving layer. The base has a support on which is laminated a composite film having (a) a microvoided thermoplastic core layer and (b) a void-free thermoplastic surface layer contg. (i) titanium dioxide in its anatase form, and (ii) an optical brightener. The surface layer (b) is in contact with the dye receiving layer. Also claimed is (A) forming a dye transfer image by imagewise heating a dye-donor element and transferring the dye image to the above receiving element, and (B) a thermal dye transfer assembly comprising a dye-donor element superposed on the above receiving element.
