The machine comprises gripping pressure which is controllable and adjustable by a hydraulic cylinder (36). The cylinder has pneumatic cylinders (36A,B) which act upon pressure levers (44A,B) which on the other side press upon bearings (70) carrying one of the rollers (24) determining the gripping pressure. Each of the levers has one arm pivotally-mounted to the actuating cylinder, and another arm which is mounted for pivot orientation about a pivot point.
