A heat sealing machine for sealing a container or blister pack with film comprises a table 2 for receiving the container, a film unit (figure 1), a sealing unit with a heating element (figure 11) corresponding in shape with the area of the container to be sealed and a hydraulic ram to raise the table upwards to the film unit to effect a seal.
