PURPOSE:To provide a manufacturing method capable of producing a carbon particle with high electric capacity at low cost and provide a negative electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery with high quick charge capability, high electric capacity, and high safety, containing this carbon particle. CONSTITUTION:Tar pitch (A) and phenol resin (B) are fused, condensed, then crosslinked on the surface of a carbonaceous material (C) having a mean particle size of 1-20mum, a layer spacing (d002) of 0.336-0.340nm, a crystallite thickness (Lc) in the direction of (c) axis of 8-70nm. When the carbon particle is heat- treated, (A)+(B) to 100 pts.wt. of (C) is limited to 30-100 pts.wt. and (A)/(B) is limited to 5/1-0.5/1. The carbon particle is used in a negative electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery. |
