DIVIDER AND IMAGE SIGNAL READER USING THE SAME

PURPOSE:To provide the image signal reader in which the increase in the circuit scale is suppressed and the accuracy of the obtained correction result is warranted when multivalued data whose bit number is represented by N are used for correction processing with respect to the multivalued data of an image signal by using a divider whose divided is less than M+N bits (M>=N and M, N are natural numbers) regardless of M+N bits for the divided. CONSTITUTION:A shading correction means 44 is a divider and an output of an A/D converter means 42 is used for a divided and an output of a storage medium 43 is used for a divider to make division and a division result normalized in 8-bits is outputted from an adder means 9. A sensor distortion is eliminated from an image signal read from a line sensor 41 to implement correction processing to obtain a uniform output characteristic. A peak correction means 49 is a divider the same as the shading correction means 44.
