IC CONNECTOR FOR IC PACKAGE

PURPOSE: To provide a new and improved IC connector for IC package by providing a couple of spring contacts projected toward a recessed part to be engaged with each lead of the IC package at each beam part. CONSTITUTION: A terminal 38 is placed on a path 36 of a connector housing 27. Each contact section of each terminal 38 is formed to be a channel in general to form a couple of solid side walls extended in a lateral plane in general with respect to a side wall 30 of the connector housing 27. A solid side wall 58 is adhered to a base in the middle of the channel shaped contact section to form in general a U shaped cross sectional shape. Then a couple of canti- levers 62, 64 having elasticity are formed from the middle part to form a couple of spring contacts 62a, 64a and each contact is projected to a recessed part 28 of the connector housing 27 so as to be engaged with each lead 16 of the IC package 12.
