PURPOSE:To provide a method for grasping the pressure being applied to a developing roller from a blade for forming a developer layer nondestructively without forming any image sample and thereby evaluating the developing performance of the blade through simulation with no influence of other factor, e.g. fluctuation of charging on the surface of a photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:A pressure sensor 45 is moved intermittently over a plurality of positions on the both sides in the longitudinal direction and at the intermediate part of a blade 20 for forming a developer layer. Every time when the pressure sensor 45 stops intermittently, the blade 20 in free state is pressed, at the part where a developing roller 16 touches the pressure sensor 45 over a predetermined dimension from a reference position. The pressure being applied to the developing roller 16 from the blade 20 is measured virtually with reference to a detected pressure. |
