<p>PURPOSE: To provide a system and method for operating the user control type variable speed synchronous reproduction of an existing digital recording voice/ video presentation. CONSTITUTION: A method and system for providing the user control type continuous synchronous various speed reproduction of a previously recorded digital voice/video presentation. A user directly controls a reproduction rate, and a voice and a video are synchronized. A voice is extended or compressed by a time domain harmonic scaling(TDHS) so that the pitch of the voice can not be distorted. The synchronization is maintained by functioning a certain clock as the master time clock of the system. The clock which can be functioned as the master time block includes a voice decoder clock, video decoder clock, and system clock. Especially, this is made valid in a multimedia display system designed for displaying MPEG data.</p> |
