PURPOSE:To suppress and prevent the rushing-out feeling or the speed change shock of a vehicle upon quick acceleration pedal return by providing means for adjusting a gear shift speed to change and control the gear ratio of a continuously variable transmission based on the detected value of the quantity of an accelerator pedal return per prescribed time. CONSTITUTION:When vehicle speed V increases while stepping on an accelerator pedal, the current valve A(n) of the detected value of an accelerator opening is larger than a preceding value A(n-1), so that the rate of change H of the accelerator opening is calculated as a positive number, a proportional coefficient k is set to '1' from a control map and a target driving speed SP is set to the maximum driving speed SPMAX. A target gear ratio CD is searched from a detecting map based on a throttle opening TH and the vehicle speed V. The target number of steps PD of the turning angle of a step motor to achieve the target gear ratio CD is calculated and set depending on this target gear ratio CD. The target driving speed SP is obtained from the absolute value of the deviation between the target step number PD and the current step number PA. |
