PURPOSE: To improve contrast on a screen and to improve contrast by replacing only a panel without exchanging another existing projection optical system by constituting a substrate on which a pixel electrode layer is formed with optical fiber plates. CONSTITUTION: When incident light is provided, a part A in a voltage on state and a part B in a voltage off state are formed on the screen. In this case as the optical path of front scattered light a3 generated at the time of being transmitted through a high molecular liquid crystal composite film 15 advances while passing through an optical fiber plate being a back face substrate 10, undesirable scattered light to the part B is removed and only transmitted light a2 is projected on the screen. In addition, through incident light a1 applied to a part applied with no voltage induces front scattered light a3' because of the imperfection of the scattered state of the film 15, light a3' advances straight by the substrate 10. Then, when projecting on the screen, unnecessary front scattered light is not projected mutually between the parts A and B to improve contrast. |
