<p>PURPOSE:To recover valuable metals such as copper, lead. etc., from molten metal produced by a melting furnace for refuse melting treatment and effectively reuse them, by providing a molten metal trap having a specified depth in the hearth of the melting furnace. CONSTITUTION:A refuse feed port 22 and an exhaust gas outlet 3 are provided in a furnace cover 21 mounted on a furnace body 11 of a three-phase alternating current arc furnace, and a refuse feeder 24 and a dust collector 25 are connected to the furnace cover 21. Three electrodes 26 are inserted into the furnace body 11 through the furnace cover 21, and a molten slug outlet 13 is formed in a side wall 12. A molten metal trap 18, having a depth H of not less than 300mm (a vertical height from a deepest part 17a of a hearth 17 to a lowest part 13a of the molten slug outlet 13) is formed in the heath 17 of the furnace body 11. Molten metal is retained in the molten metal trap 18 so that concentrated valuable metal such as copper, lead, etc., having specific gravity larger than that of iron can be recovered by difference in specific gravities and effectively re-used.</p> |
