PURPOSE:To ensure that grinding media do not concentrate at an area near the outlet of a grinding chamber and a pressure loss is reduced, and the grinding chamber is efficiently used for grinding into fine powder. CONSTITUTION:This stirring mill 4 is equipped with a cylindrical container 2 and a hollow stirring shaft 4 with a stirring member 4a provided on its periphery surface arranged in a freely rotatable manner. In addition, an inlet 12 for circulating a medium is formed on the terminal part of the hollow stirring shaft 4 which is adjacent to the slurry outlet 7 of the container, and an outlet 13 for circulating a medium is formed on the terminal part of the hollow stirring shaft 4 close to a slurry inlet 6. Further, a screen 8 is provided so as to surround the slurry outlet, and grinding media 15 loaded fully in a grinding chamber 11 formed between the inner surface of the container and the outer surface of the stirring shaft move by a pumping means, in the axial direction of the container and circulate in the container through a circulation channel running from the inlet for medium circulation of the stirring shaft to the interior of the grinding chamber via the interior of the stirring shaft and the outlet 13 for medium circulation. Further, the marginal surface in a peripheral direction of the outlet for medium circulation is gradient so that the speed of the crushing medium is accelerated outward in a radial direction. This pumping means circulates the grinding medium at high speed. |
