PURPOSE:To precisely and surely detect a visual axis regardless of the attitude of a camera. CONSTITUTION:The eyeball 12 of a photographer is lighted by first and second lighting means 10, 11, the line-of-sight direction of the eyeball 12 is calculated from the reflected image of the eyeball 12 lighted by the lighting means 10, 11. The first lighting means 10 is arranged in the vertical direction of the finder ocular window of a camera, and the second lighting means 11 is arranged in the horizontal direction of the finder ocular window. The camera has first and second release means 13, 14 arranged in positions where they are operable when the camera is set in the horizontal position and the vertical position, respectively, and operated to instruct the release operation, and a first control means 15 for operating the fist lighting means 10 when the first release means 13 is operated, and operating the second lighting means 11 when the second release means 14 is operated. |
