Process for treating room air for the human domain, in particular for living rooms and work rooms, in which the room air to be treated has or can have physically and/or chemically separable pollutants. The room air is treated climatically in a climate-control apparatus and transported by a blower in the region of the climate control apparatus. In at least one oxidiser, the room air is treated with ozone generated in an ozoniser, for the oxidation of oxidizable pollutants. The room air coming from the oxidiser is treated in at least one filter device having a conversion filter for converting ozone into stable molecular oxygen and the room air coming from the filter device is analysed for ozone by at least one ozone sensor. The ozone generated in the ozoniser is controlled and/or regulated in terms of volume depending on electrical signals from the ozone sensor. The treated room air is vented through at least one outlet channel having an air outlet into the assigned room to be climatised. Before the treatment in the oxidiser, the room air is analysed quantitatively for oxidisable pollutants by at least one pollutant sensor and the ozone generated in the ozoniser is additionally controlled and/or regulated in terms of volume depending on electrical signals from the pollutant sensor. The room air coming from the filter device, before the analysis with the ozone sensor, is impinged with ozone concentration pulses by a self-test ozoniser. In the absence of electrical self-test signals from the ozone sensor, the ozoniser is controlled into a stand-by state. An air-conditioning unit for carrying out the process is also specified. <IMAGE> |
