发明名称 LASER MACHINING METHOD OF CUBIC NITRIDE BORN SINTERED BODY
摘要 PURPOSE:To execute machining of cutting, etc., in short time and to easily make unmanned operation possible by executing machining of a cubic nitride boron sintered body with irradiation of laser beam in nitrogen or inert gas atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:In the case the machining of cutting, etc., is executed in a nitrogen or inert gas atmosphere, metal boron is precipitated in cutting face because there is no oxygen to combine with boron. Because this metal boron can efficiently absorb an energy of laser beam so as to keep the cutting face to high temp., even in case of cBN sintered body by direct conversion method, it can be machined like cutting, etc., by low output laser beam. For example, while argon gas is blown on the cutting face of cBN sintered body by direct conversion method, the cutting face is continuously irradiated with YAG laser beam and is cut at a cutting rate of 2mm/min. As a result, near the cut surface there is no generation of chipping, crack, etc., the cutting margin is 100mum at the upper surface on which a laser beam is made incidene and 107mum for the rear surface.
