LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND RELATED DEVICE/METHOD

PURPOSE: To provide a communication interface for an operator being an integrated and highly reliable component of a manual data storage library. CONSTITUTION: The communication interface between the operator and a host 10 to manage the manual data storage library 16 is disclosed. The host processor 10 controls a peripheral data storage device(PDSD) 14 in a library. An operator interaction field is provided by a graphical user interface 21 on a screen of a display device 25 connecting to a library manager controller 18. An interface logic is provided to a library manager program code loaded to a program memory means in the library manager controller via the host processor 10 for communication with the PDSD 14 and an external device.
