PURPOSE:To provide a microbial method for directly converting a substance having a protected a-amino group of L-lysine into an L-2-aminoadipic acid derivative. CONSTITUTION:This method for producing an L-2-aminoadipic acid derivative expressed by the formula, HOOCCH(NHR)CH2CH2CH2COOH (R is a protecting group of amino group) or its salt is to convert aminomethyl group in a substance having a protected alpha-amino group of L-lysine expressed by the formula, HOOCCH(NHR)CH2CH2CH2CH2NH2 or its salt into carboxyl group with a culture of a microorganism selected from the group consisting of the genera Streptomyces, Rhodococcus, Aspergillus, Pseudomonas. Brevibacterium, Aeromonas, Corynebacterium and Enterobacter. |
