PURPOSE: To provide a method for utilizing more efficiently an assigned frequency spectrum, a radio base station and a radio device. CONSTITUTION: A method and a device are provided for controlling power to be transmitted by a radio device, based on the type of a radio device on one side. The type of radio device is specified by a data rate and service quality, required for that radio device. Power to be transmitted by a specified radio device is controlled, so that the ratio, to a minimum power level, of a power received at the receiving antenna from the specified radio device is proportional to the ratio of the device's data rate with respect to a minimum data rate. Additionally, power to be transmitted by the specified radio device is controlled, so that the ratio of power received from the specified radio device to the minimum power level is proportional to the ratio of requirements concerning the service quality of the device with respect to minimum service quality requirements. |
