摘要 |
PURPOSE: To provide a method for plane-aligning the layer of chiral liquid crystal side chain polymer without causing any disclimination, and to provide an optical element produced by this method. CONSTITUTION: This method is provided with a step for exposing the chiral liquid crystal side chain polymer layer 3 with dielectric aeolotropy in its cholesteric phase to an electric field vertical to this layer 3 and a step for cooling the polymer under its glass transition temp. to fix alignment induced by the electric field. Thereby liquid crystal without causing any disclimination is obtained. |
