The windlass is for securing and tensioning cables, ropes or wires, partic. sheet winches, drop winches, capstans, ships tackle, lifting blocks or pulley lifting tackle, and uses conical discs (111) fixed or drive connected to each other, which are drivable by motor or by hand, via a crank or a cable pull. The discs have a surface profiling, with only one loop of the traction means. The surface profiling comprises strand-form, inwardly directed shafts, which are formed straightly or arc-shaped, whereby the holding force on the cable, rope or wire of the conical drum discs is activated by a positively shaped profile, so formed that it produces the necessary holding force so that the cable, rope or wire is not worn, or its covering strained or torn. <IMAGE> |
