PURPOSE:To prevent such a case where subscriber has his-her eyeballs, etc., injured by the light radiated from a laser diode by supplying the current to the laser diode via a conductor which is unified in parallel with the conductors and optical fibers provided to a plug and a receptacle of an optical connector. CONSTITUTION:A receptacle 100 contains two conductors 102 and 103 which are connected to each other via a conductor 104 provided to a plug 101. The current Ic1 flowing through a diode 507 is supplied to a constant voltage source 506 via a constant current circuit 505 and then conductors 103, 104 and 102 respectively. When a subscriber pulls out the plug 101, both conductors 102 and 103 are separated from each other and the current Ic1 supplied to the diode 507 is cut off. Thus it is possible to prevent the subscriber from being injured with his/her eyeballs, etc., by the light radiated from the diode 507 when the subscriber pulls out the plug 101. |
