The clamp consists of a support mounted on a carrier arm (1), and a mobile component which can pivot about the support's lengthwise axis. The support has a motor (6) which rotates the mobile section about the lengthwise axis to set it in the required angular position and hold it there during a welding operation. The motor (6) is equipped with a pinion (5) which engages with a toothed ring on the mobile section, while a protective casing (12) in two halves, mounted on the support, shields the motor and the toothed ring.
