The subject of the invention is a sheet blank (1) of multilayer structure, a so-called sandwich sheet, of the type comprising two outer metal sheets (2, 3) and a polymer layer (4) sandwiched between the said metal sheets (2, 3). The edges (2a, 3a) of the outer metal sheets (2, 3) are welded together over all or part of the perimeter of the sheet blank (1).
