PURPOSE:To provide the display device for the portable information equipment which can reduce the weight of the whole portable information equipment and reduce the manufacture cost. CONSTITUTION:A projection type display device consisting of a projection device 13 and a screen 15 is employed as the display device incorporated in the main body 11 of the portable information equipment such as a personal computer. The screen 15 is arranged on the reverse surface of the lid 14 of the information equipment. The projection device 13 is fixed at a specific angle to the lid 14 and put in the information equipment main body as the lid is closed; even when the angle of the lid is changed, the relative position relation with the screen is unchanged. Output information of the information equipment is projected on the transmission type liquid crystal panel of the projection device 18 and enlarged and displayed on the screen through a light source, a magnifying lens, and a refracting lens. Therefore, the need to incorporate a display driving circuit in the lid is eliminated and the thickness and weight of the lid is reducible. A display element is downsized and the cost is reduced. |
