PURPOSE:To provide a thin type back light enhanced in luminance and improved in nonuniformity. CONSTITUTION:This back light is the edge light type back light for liquid crystal which is constituted so that a diffusion layer 1 and a reflecting plate 3 are disposed in parallel by interposing a light guiding part and which emits light from the side part. Then, plural semitransparent reflecting surfaces 5 provided with proper reflectivity and proper transmissivity are disposed on the inside of the light guiding part by changing the area and the angles thereof according to the quantity of the light made incident on the respective surfaces 5 so that the distribution of the light reflected from the respective surfaces 5 is uniformized with respect to the layer 1. |
