PURPOSE:To provide the waveform processor which can easily specify a compression rate or expansion rate when the time base of a musical tone signal waveform is compressed or expanded without varying the pitch of the musical tone. CONSTITUTION:The waveform processor performs a time stretching process for compressing or expanding the time base of the musical tone signal waveform without varying the pitch of the musical sound on an automatic playing device using a sequencer 1, etc., and is provided with a before-conversion tempo specifying means which specifies the original tempo of the musical tone signal waveform an after-conversion tempo specifying means which specifies a desired tempo after the conversion of the musical tone signal waveform, an arithmetic means which calculates the ratio of the tempo specified by the before-conversion tempo specifying means and the tempo specified by the after-conversion tempo specifying means, and a time stretch waveform generating means which performs stretches the time of the musical tone signal waveform according to the ratio calculated by the arithmetic means and generates the musical tone signal waveform of the tempo specified by the after-conversion tempo specifying means. |
