PURPOSE:To provide a pretreating device for an optical cord which efficiently pretreats the optical cord by automatically supplying the optical cord and the processing method. CONSTITUTION:This pretreating device of the optical cord consists of actuators 4A, 4B which the optical cord 2 and position the optical cord at a prescribed processing position, a pair of opening/closing mechanisms 200, 300 which are disposed to face the optical cord 2 positioned by these actuators 4A, 4B and are packaged with respectively four pairs of first and second, third and fourth mechanical cutting blades, opening/closing mechanisms which exist separately from the opening/closing mechanisms and support a pair of thermally cutting blades, mechanisms which loosen the 'Kevlar (R)' of the optical cord 2, 'Kevlar (R)' shaping mechanism which radially position the 'Kevlar (R)' of the optical cord by gaseous flow and mold the 'Kevlar (R)' and brushes which remove the cut materials sticking to the first and second, third, fourth mechanical cutting blades. This processing method for the optical cord 2 comprises executing the processing stage necessary for the prescribed pretreatment by using the pretreating device for the optical cord 2. |
