发明名称 SECONDARY BATTERY ELECTRODE GRAPHITE MATERIAL AND ITS MANUFACTURE
摘要 PURPOSE:To provide an electrode graphite material that makes possible a nonaqueous solvent type secondary battery having a large charge and discharge capacity, a high active material utilization factor, a discharge curve of excellent flatness, and a good quick charge and discharge characteristic and to provide a method for manufacturing the material. CONSTITUTION:A graphite material, which is obtained when petroleum, or coal type, tar or pitch is crosslinked and graphitized under reduced pressure or in an inert gas atmosphere at or above 1800 deg.C, has a (002) face whose average layer-to-layer spacing d(002) as determined by X-ray diffraction method is 0.336 to 0.350nm. The size Lc(002) of crystallites in (c)-axis direction is in excess of 15nm and not greater than 50nm and the size La(110) of crystallites in (a)-axis direction is 5-50nm, and an optical anisotropic composition as observed by a polarizing microscope shows a fine mosaic structure.
