<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an accurate reproduction image by decoding an inter-frame image data just after channel changeover based on in-frame image data of a different channel so as to prevent the disadvantage of inaccurate decoding. CONSTITUTION:The decoding method and the decoder conduct it that desired image data are selected and outputted among image data from plural coders outputting image data subjected to in-frame compression coding (in-frame image data) and image data subjected to inter-frame compression coding (inter-frame image data), and when channel designation data designating a desired channel are fed to a selection control circuit 7, the selection control circuit 7 selects and controls a selection circuit 5 so as to select a channel in a timing when an inter-frame/in-frame discrimination circuit 6 discriminates it that the current image data in a designated channel is in-frame image data.</p> |
