PURPOSE: To prevent action of excessive external force and generation of abrasion or the like at engagement means when plug connection is released. CONSTITUTION: This connector comprises a plug part 1 provided with at least two opposite tongue shaped parts 2a and 2b having claw parts 4a and 4b parallel to a plug axle line 3 and facing to the outside and a socket part having a shoulder part engaged with a hole and a claw part receiving the tongue shaped part. A tongue shaped part of a plug part extends toward a rear wall 5 and is inclined so as to be gradually distant toward the rear wall on surfaces 6a and 6b of the tongue shaped part directed to the plug axle line 3. The tongue shaped part is pivoted to a plug housing at a substantially center position in its longitudinal direction. Holes 7a and 7b are formed at the rear wall 5 arranged in the periphery of a tilt side face of the tongue shaped part. A U-shaped yoke 8 forces the tongue shaped part in this region in a direction distant from the plug axle line to move so that an end having the claw part of the tongue shaped part is moved toward the plug axle line during insertion into rims 8a and 8b thereof.
