Grassed sport playing areas are created indoors by fitting together, onto a prepared base, a series of modular elements, in the form of trays, filled with turf, which has been grown externally on a substrate. The trays are manufactured in three basic shapes, hexagonal, semi-hexagonal and triangular, in order to form rectangular playing areas. The hollow tray (2) is constructed with reinforcing strips (12), which run between the outer edge of the tray and the channels (16). These support the growing platform (3) and allow the access of forks of lift trucks, which are used to handle the trays.
