<p>PURPOSE:To automatically charge a cart properly in such a way as to charge it by the amount of integrated discharge when the quantity of integrated charge is smaller than or equal to the quantity of integrated discharge and to charge until it comes to specified voltage when the quantity of integrated charge is larger than the quantity of integrated discharge due to natural discharge. CONSTITUTION:A battery 7 is charged with a charger 9, and the quantity of integrated charge is detected 11. After charging, the current is discharged to an electric apparatus A, and the quantity of integrated discharge is detected 10. A voltage detecting means 12 detects the voltage between the terminals of the battery 7. The charger 9 is equipped with a charging means 13 for replenishing the amount of ordinary discharge, which puts the battery 7 in full charge by charging it by the quantity of integrated discharge, and a fixed-quantity charge means 14 which puts it in full charge by charging it for a specified time with a constant current when the voltage between the terminals comes to a specified value. At charging, a mode select means 13 charges it to the full, automatically selecting 15 a charging means 13 when the quantity of integrated charge is smaller than or equal to the quantity of integrated charge and a charging means 14 when the quantity of integrated discharge is larger than the quantity of integrated charge. Hereby, even if the voltage has dropped by natural discharge due to a long nonuse period, proper charging is automatically performed.</p> |
