PURPOSE:To provide a scintillation camera with a high resolution (position resolution). CONSTITUTION:When radioactive rays are applied to a scintillator 10, scintillation light of a quantity proportional to the energy value of the radioactive rays is generated at the incidence position of the radioactive rays. The generated scintillation rays are supplied to some of photodetectors 31-35 constituting a detector array 30. The photodetectors 31-35 output an electrical signal which is proportional to each supply light. The output electrical signals is given to selection means 43 and a photodetector located at the incidence position of the radioactive rays to the scintillator 10 and a plurality of photodetectors adjacent to the photodetector are selected. A detection means 47 detects the incidence position of radioactive rays to the scintillator 10 based on the output signal from a plurality of segments of each photodetector selected by the selection means 43.
