PURPOSE:To obtain an image forming apparatus of which driving source can be made smaller than a conventional one usable and of which cost can be reduced by driving an image forming member at an operation speed at the time of starting prior to image forming operation slower than the speed in the image forming operation. CONSTITUTION:In the case of image formation, torque T1 necessary to drive a photoreceptor drum, a toner sending member, or various kinds of rollers is produced at the time when operation is carried out at frequency f1. Since a toner sometimes agglomerates when an apparatus is started prior to image formation, the torque T2 higher than the torque T1 at the time of image formation and necessary to stir and send the toner is produced at the time when operation is carried out at frequency f2. An image forming apparatus is, therefore, so composed as to be driven at frequency f2 at the time of starting to carry out starting time check and be driven at frequency f1 at the time of forming images after the toner is stirred. In this way, the maximum load torque in the normal state can be lowered and the motor cost can also be lowered by making the driving speed at the time of starting slower than that at the time of forming images. |
