An organosilicon compound represented by formula (I) wherein R<1> and R<2>, which may be the same or different, each represents an alkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; R<3> and R<4>, which may be the same or different, each represents an alkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms, or a halogen atom; and m and n each represents 0 or an integer of 1 or 2. The organosilicon compound is used as an effective electron donor ingredient of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst for olefin polymerization.
