The PTFE sealing ring (1) has a turned round sleeve (12) which is shaped to give a projecting ring (16) towards the flange butting surface (6), with a cylindrical inner surface (18) to the flange bond. The thickness (H) of the ring (16) has a large dimension, measured towards the flange and tube axis (17) against the smaller thickness (h) of the PTFE sleeve (12). The radial outer surface of the ring (16), for the outer ring surface, has a geometrical match to the radius (R) at the transit between the axial flange butting surface (7) and the inner tube surface (9).
